Question Tires Rubbing

I have a 2000 F150 XLT 4x2 that has a 3 inch Fabtech lift and a 3 inch body lift with 35" BFGs. I just starting to rub the inner wheel well on hard turns. The install place wants to cut the plastic liner back pretty far. I know this is a fairly common lift (at least in southern CA), is this common? Or will trimming the liner back cause problems down the road? Thanks for any help or recommendations.

Jeffc, I have the 3" Spindle lift and a 3" body lift + a 1" coil spacer. Mine rub the black plastic behind the front tire too. What we were conserned about was behind that plastic is a piece of metal thats thin and coul possibly rip open the tire. So we took the plastic out and cut a slit in the metal and bend it back. We also cut out a different piece of metal at the bottom. (None of this is visible unless you take tha plastic out.) Then we put the plastic back in and I don't have to worry about tearing up my tires. If yours is only rubbing the plastic then I would be too conserned about it until it rubs through the plastic and starts rubbing the metal.
