Want to increase your gas mileage?

I also just bought a GMC with 5.3L motor and am getting 17 mpg my F150 only got 11mpg. I think the 3.73 gears really helps with the small block, the 3.55 in the ford just made the engine lug too much. I would have bought another Ford if I didn't see over 400 posts about not getting the wrong radiators and other tow package equiptment.

I noticed we picked up some "Chevy mileage experts" on this thread about mothballs.
Hmmm.
I wonder if there is a connection. Perhaps the mothballs work in a Chevy, kind of makes sense somehow .
I'll stick to filling my tires with helium.

I tried sticking my finger in my tailpipe (the vehicle's) to check for carbon deposits as was suggested and damn near burnt my finger off!!! He never said to shut the vehicle off first. (P.S. It's a real pain in the 'tailpipe' to type with only 9 fingers/thumbs.) </font>

Not to upset anyone but if you want better gas milage buy a Chevy 5.3 V-8. I had both a ford ext cab w/5.4 and it idles so rough it feels like it has a racing cam in it.Anyways this thing gets 9 to 10 miles a gallon. The Chevy ext cab w/5.3 gets 17.21 miles to the gallon. Also let me mention no door cracks,no leaking head gaskets and it has all the options I paid for including the correct radiator.Don't get me wrong I used to be a true ford man but then I bought a Chevy and WOW what a truck.</font>
