expedition wont start after replacing intake gaskets

My 2001 5.4 expedition just got the intake gaskets replaced and now it won't start. It tries to but won't start. You can,smell gas every time you try to start it. We got spark too. Help!!

I just did the same thing.

I was told to turn the key on/off several times to power up, and cycle the coils. even after that it took some cranking before it started.

if it still won't start, I would guess you have something unhooked, or hooked up wrong. I'd double check all the hoses, and make sure all the injectors / coils are hooked up correctly.

lastly, I had to unhook my knock sensor on the bottom of the motor to move the wires away for clearance, and at first didn't have it pushed back on all the way.

Pull plugs and see if any or all are soaked with fuel. If they are you may have a stuck injector in which case you don't want to continue trying to start it until you fix them.

If you smell fuel, it may be flooded. Put the gas all the way to the floor (this shuts the fuel pump down) and it should start as long as you have spark.
