I blew my engine block in my 98 f150 and needs to be replaced now. I have a 4.6 currently, 4 wheel drive, extended cab. I was looking into replacing it with a 5.4 instead but I've been looking around and people say you need to re-program the computer and relocate one or two things (no definite answers on the relocation). So what I want to know is how hard will it to be to re-program the computer (or will someone do it for cheap), and what all do i need to re locate and how difficult will this be?

Any other suggestions on engines (don't want to go smaller, and that won;t be too difficult too modify to fit my truck)?

 

You can use the stock computer you just need a custom tune. Use the search feature. The swap has been done and its well documented in the boards archives.
