Hey y'all new to the site but I have been trolling for awhile. I recently came into the possession of a 1995 F150 2wd swb single cab. The truck is really clean with 86000 miles on the odo and a 302 under the hood. I have been going through the truck replacing bits and pieces as I can and have decided to do a complete motor swap for more power. I just don't know where to start. I think I will probably be replacing the transmission along with the motor because the current transmission I don't think will hold the power I would like to put in the truck. I would like to just do a motor/transmission swap without a bunch of added wiring etc and I think from reading here a 351 would suit this truck well without a bunch of modifications. Can those with motor/transmission knowledge point me in the right direction as to what would work and where to start.

 

Your transmission should be fine with a 351. The old weak AOD was long gone by 95, you most likely have a 4R70W. Any upgrade from that will have electronic issues.
