08 F150 5.4L power steering leak w/only 54K miles

Just noticed this today. I know it looks bad but it appears to be a very small leak. Its right under the crank pulley and I think its a oil line. That section of the line is the only place thats leaking but its leaking where the hose meets the fitting so Im sure a new one is needed. Can anyone tell me what this is exactly?

Yea, looks like a bad crimp. It happens, - just not very often.

I suggest you do not put any kind of power steering fluid in your system that is supposed to prevent or stop leaks unless you flush it out after it does its job. The reason why is that the seal softeners in the fluid don't know when to stop softening the seals.

When I pried on the pump pulley of my 82 Pontiac Trans Am back when before I found the fourth bolt that needed loosening to change the belt, I caused a leak at the pump shaft. I remembered I had a qt of TransX meant for transmission seal leak stoppage and I measured out a few ounces and put it in the PS system. It stopped the shaft seal leak almost instantly. Well, it kept on softening the rubber in the system and a year later I had to replace both hoses, the pump, and the steering box. They were all leaking. It was an expensive lesson. What other kind are there? Ha!

Let me guess high pressure power steering line that goes from the pump to the rack.

Looks like its the pressure and return line. No idea what could cause it other than the colder weather maybe. Wonder how much its gonna costs to replace both lines. Such a damn shame for a low mileage truck.
