Anyone Running Full Synthetic Valvoline 5w-20?

Ok so i'm running Valvoline 5w-20 Full Synthetic in my truck and i am planning on changing the oil at 6,000 miles im just a few miles short of it but anyways has any one been running Full Synthetic for 6,000 miles and had any problems with doing so? Or should i still be changing it at 3,000 miles? Its just alot of money to change it at 3,000 miles each time. Thanks guys

If your in warranty follow what Ford recommends, other than that 6000 miles should be fine with a Full Synthetic!....

I have run full syn in my f150 and dodge with 5k intervals with no problems. My truck has 33k and dodge has 45k. I have had no problems.

I have used mobil1, castrol, and pennzoil, with mobil1 or napa golds filters.

I've been running my 98 on Full Synthetic, 5W30 Quaker State for most of the last 4 years. If I skip a change I run QS 5W-30 Synth-Blend, and it feels fine. I'm not sure of the 20 weight because of the climate conditions in the Middle-Atlantic States usually calls for at least 30W.

I use Mobil 1 EP 5w20 and I change it once a year or every 10k. I use a Mobil 1 filter.

just about any oil will last for 6000 miles now days. I never go that long but I have cut back from every 3 months to every 4 in my trucks. I change my mach I 1 time a year in the spring but I dont put 2000 miles on it in a year..

You should change the Mach 1 in the fall before storage so that it is stored with clean oil. No water or acids to damage engine parts while stored.

Motorcraft Syn Blend 5w20 will go 7500 miles of normal driving probably 5K with shorter trips.

If you insist on changing your oil every 3k, you are throwing money away if you use premium oil. ANY oil that meets spec will last longer than that - even Supertech.

Exactly! 3K oil changes are a waste of money and oil.

Just started using Mobil 1 with Motorcraft filter. I was curious if I still needed to do the whole three month change which somehow always ending up being 4 months! The whole Mobil 1 thing aint cheap for every three months so I am glad to see I can now plan on 4 months, which really means 4 1/2 months. Just a heads up, I also had a broken oil filter band type wrench so I bought a cool looking new plier looking type,,,,needless to say, I got frustrated and took the wife's car to get a new band type wrench. I thought that new plier type was worthless, IMO!

Make sure you are using Mobil 1 EP if you must use Mobil at all. The non EP version is not worth the money as it has failed some key testing recently.

From what I understand, it's the 5w30 that's been failing - the 5w20 supposedly is okay. However, the EP is only 50 cents more a quart and when you are already paying 6 bucks a quart, the upgrade is a no brainer.
