fault code Q?
i have a 97 f150 5.4L and have fault codes and dont know what to do to fix it.
p0133- o2 sensor CKT slow responce (bank 1)
p1131- manufacture control, fuel air metering
p0171- system to lean (bank 1)
i assume it comes from my 02 sensor but want to make sure. ooh ya and that is how they read in order on my scaner.

PO133 - Replace forward O2 Pass. Side
P1131 - Will go away when PO133 is fixed.
P0171 - Same
The O2 fault is most likley generating all MIL codes. Check for vac leaks just in case and cleaning your MAF is a good idea. Disconnect the battery first so you'll get a fresh reboot from the PCM when you fixed and maintenced the motor.
Check the PCV - pull it and shake, if it sounds like an empty paint can then it's good.
This is the line that usually leakes within the vac system, the one that 90's back by the firewall. It stems from the PVC and goes right in back of the head then 90's into the manifold, it usually leaks right at the 90..-

The best way to clean the MAF in my opinion is to pull the intake and take that little cover off held by two screws - on the 97 you'll have the child proof screws that take that special tool - just use a pair of vise grips to loosen them and replace with a user friendly screw. heres a pic of the cover that I would take off , you can do a better cleaning job on it , just don't touch the little sensor wires, they brake pretty easy and MAFs aren't cheap .. -
I use brake cleaner because it has the best pressure for cleaning behind it but, you can use this stuff if you can find a supplier -
Whatever you use , let the stuff do the work , if you have a compressor you can dry it with about 10-20lbs of compressed air
Good Luck

Well , I don't use Seafoam myself, I don't really need to.
They use it to clean upper intake, fuel injectors or whatnot. People suck it up right out of the can threw the brake booster hose while the vehicle is running. When the motor starts to hesitate, your suppose to shut it down and let it sit for a bit - 1/2 hour or so , then fire it up and rev it until it stops smoking lol.
I guess it works from what people have reported.
I clean mine by pulling the throttle body and doin it up by hand. I just replace the injectors after awhile since there so cheap on eBay..
