Occaissional "clanking" when warming up

On occaission, when warming up my truck after it has set outside in cold weather, there will be a "clanking" sound. It sounds like hitting a thin piece of metal with another piece of metal. Doesn't last very long. Could it have something to do with one of the fan blades?

Is the noise comming from the engine? Fords are notorious for this (I am sorry to say) my mom's v6 did that when we whent to MN in the winter time...but just for warmup right? My dad used to work for Ford when we lived in Europe, this is where I got this information, he said it was harmless just warming up from what I understand.

Yes, it comes from the front of the engine.
Yes, it's only during warm up.
Thanks
