Really wierd problem. Help please!

Well, i have a 94 f140 4x4, and iam having a really wierd problem.

When iam driving and get to around 60mph the rpm's will suddenly go up (to around 3k) and there will be no gas (the pedal goes soft) then it will clunk and go back down to regular rpms. It seems to happen alot more when i get down to a 1/4 tank. It also seems to happen alot when i'm going up hills.

Does anyone know whats going on? if iam on clear in the description i can try and clearify.

Thanks

There's nothing that can affect the gas pedal feel - that must be in your mind, due to the change in sound & response.

Read this & check your fuel pressure.

Give this a try- drive the truck at 60 mph, gently step on the brake enough for the stop lights to work with the left foot while also staying on the gas. If the driving conditions are the same as you described, you have a transmission issue.
