Your IAC is stuck or you have a nasty vac leak lol..

Haynes/Chilton books , will give yuh the basics , you'll need to know those.

Now that I see you have an 89 (did u just do that?)

5.0 (302)? 351?.............SIX????????????

I'll guess -

89 302's had a plenum gasket probs.(they suck!!) Listen for air leaks under the hood, round the air filter, lots of vac leaks in the 302 develop over time..

89's - check your KAM memory, there's ways to do this yourself under the hood- been awhile for me.

There's a site called - Ford fuel injection.com. That site will describe how you can test for stored #'s in your comp..

You'll prolly get some one with an 89 that can be of more help to yuh..If i remember right the TP sensor is adjustable on the 302 - The six (4.9) was the only one not adjustable, back then. You might be able too get away with tweaking that if all else fails - fix the air leaks first.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck
