4R70W vs 4R75E mechanical shift

Av searched for a while on forums, Google and even emailed a few dealers with no luck (Keep the search ****'s happy)

Inspired by Project 'Red Rum' I want to fit a gated shifter to my 2004 F150 4R75E tranny. One of these:

Anyhow, They only list for the 4R70W. Well iam just wondering if the shift throw lever and linkage's are the same / simmilar?

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know they are very close to the same trans. The torque converters and the internals are beefed up over the 70 but basically the same otherwise.

Yeah. Just hope the throw pattern is the same. It don't matter if its longer / shorter. Needs to be consistent. The throw between the gate needs to be 95%

Still waiting on final pricing tomorrow. Then am gonna give it a bash.

My thought would be to remove the lower centre seat assembly and leave the upper arm rest, cup holder and storage. Then build a frame so the shifter rear body slides under and the lever falls into the hand.

Mmmmmm how the hell do I frikin sleep?
