1997 F150 won't shift to drive...

Hey, I've got a 1997 F150 4.6L Auto 4x4 and suddenly it won't shift into drive. I can physically move the shift stick into drive but it acts like it's in neutral. However if I put it into reverse it'll run just fine. Tranny fluid is full, and was just replaced along with a new filter a month ago. I'm wondering if this is a tranny or clutch problem, or maybe just a sensor somewhere? I've always had problems with my tranny "shuddering" while shifting into certain gears, mainly 3rd. My check engine light isn't on either. One thing I did to move it though was rev the engine to about 4500/5000 RPM and it "jolted" into gear and I was able to drive it back home... but at every stop light I had to do it again.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I hate to break it to you, but it sounds as if it's overhaul time.
