Question 4R75E/4R100 questions

What issues are there in swapping in a 4R100 in place of the 4R75E?

Otherwise, what suggested modifications/rebuilding to the 4R75E should be considered to handle a 5.4 S/C engine?

I've heard so many various stories, I'd like to get a consensus if possible.

Thanks,

Lee

You are going to find this project to be a nightmare, fix the 4r75 instead it'll be cheaper and easier. Contact Darrin at BC-Automotive if you want to know what it's going to cost to make that trans handle it. Me and him have worked together for many year included in january edition of MM&FF we put a transmission/converter combination in a bullit making over 600 rwhp. You will find the 4r75w to be a faster transmission as well if you want to race.

You'd have to invent yer own control system from scratch. There wasn't a 3valve 5.4 4R100 combo from the factory.

Thought that might be the case...

Goes to show, the guys who told me "Drop in a MonsterBox!" didn't quite have the whole picture.

I'll research the upgrades to the 4R75E. With the summer gas here, I'll probably bump my timing back up and get more torque, so I'm certainly going to be watching the tranny.

Thanks for the help!
