i would just like to say great forum everyone..i recently purchased a 93 f150 4x4 with a 4.9l and e4od tranny(trans code "e") with 118,000 miles...my problem is when i drive it for a mile or 2 ....the tranny with no warning will just stop moving( like i put it in neutral)..then it won't go forward or reverse..i have to leave it set and cool down then it will go for a ways then act up again.. i'm going to change fluid and filter when it warms up...(its zero degrees out now)..but i guess my question is ..could this also be something electrical?? i'm not getting any flashing from my overdrive so i haven't checked any codes..any help would be apprieciated. thanx

 

easy fix... replace the coolant lines... it causes it to overheat without wanring
