Early '92 : AOD
Late '92-94 : AODE
'95-04 (at least) : 4R70W

But I'm pretty sure the AODE & 4R70W use the same filter. All 3 use the same pan. The correct fluid is MerconV. Don't use anything else.

From the bottom of this page:

MERCONŽ V Automatic Transmission Fluid
- An approved MERCONŽ fluid
- Increased protection against wear, deposits, rust and corrosion
- Improved low-temperature shifting
- Guards against transmission shudder
- Engineered and recommended by Ford Motor Company for use in automatic transmissions ONLY where MERCONŽ V is specified.
- Use for all AODE and 4R70W transmissions
