Does the knock increase with engine speed? Is the tranny bolted up straight? Did you torque the flywheel down? Did you use a locktite of any sort on the flywheel bolts? Do you have the correct slave cylinder. Was it changed the second time? Did it come with a new release bearing?

yes the knock does increase as you give it more gas even in nuetral and noise goes away if you push clutch in. the transmission is on straight and fly wheel is torqed at 60lb. yes new release bearing and slave cylinder both times the parts are correct and were matched up with original parts taken off.

When you press on the clutch pedal you remove the driving force to the transmission. If it knocks with the clutch pedal released then the noise is coming from the clutch pressure plate fingers hitting something or something in the transmission is knocking. The thrust bearing on the crank could be worn and is allowing the crank to walk under load. Check the fluid level in the tranny.
