Transmission Swap

Hey Guys,

I tried to find somthing similar in older threads but I'd like some case specific help on this one. I have a 95 F150 2wd auto with the 300 and an 83 bronco manual 4x4 that also has the 300. I want to get the 83 manual transmission into my 95 auto. The 95 feels like it has a lead in its butt compared to the 83 inspite of the EFI. The only thing I can figure is the gearing was better (low end) in the 83.

I've looked at the transmission info page. Thanks to adrianspeeder. I have the E4OD in the 95 and I can't figure which I have in the 83 (the door panel is worn right on the code) its a manual 4 speed no o/d so There are a several it cood be. I'll try to get the dealership to check the vin and maybe they can tell me.

I'm hoping this should be a decently easy swap. From new to old and from auto to manual ... should be as easy as it gets right? the only catch I can see is the 4x4 might have a lower rear end then the 2wd

does this sound possible? what problem do you guys forsee? tips? Any and all help is greatly appreciated

If it's the non OD four speed you would have the NP435. Look like this?

I'd like to keep it as stock as possible so I intend to try and use all the mounting from the original truck ... The hole for the shfter was actually there already its just been covered and insulated. Thats what got me thinking in the first place. odd case or normal?
