shouild i change transmission fluid
i have a 2001 f150 with a 108,000 miles i got it 4 months ago. i have no ideal when ir if the transmission fluid was changed i know a lot of places wont do it if it has more than 100,000 miles on it. do you think i should do it there is no problems with the transmission im just afraid the change it

If the fluid is brown or black and smells burnt, you're probably better off leaving it alone. I know people who have lost trannys shortly after changing bad fluid and if you've ran over 100,000 miles on that stuff, the damage is probably already done. If it's still red and smells ok, change it. Drain the torque converter as well to get all the old stuff out. I change my trany fluid every 50,000 miles, so unless it's been driven really hard and towed trailers most of it's life, you should have no problem changing it at 100,000.
