My 2004 FX-4 is supposed to have the trailer package on it, when we hooked the trailer up, we had all the lights but running lights with the headlights on, fuse 201 under the hood wasn't even there ! I went to the dealer and bought one ($11.00) installed it and had NO CHANGE ! is it a ground problem ?

Check all of the fuses in the passenger compartment. I had the same problem (no running lights) and had at least 3 fuses that were blown. Not sure about the 04 fuse box, mine is an 05, but once I put in the trailer tow park fuse (location 10, 20Amp), everything worked fine.....except my interior dome light..

201 is the one they sold me at the Dealership, I put it in and it didn't make any difference at all, do you have the correct part number for it, I wonder if they gave me the wrong part ?

There is a R201 under the hood and one in the passenger side fuse box. Which place did you install yours? Remember, I have an 05, so I may be misleading you on your 04, but not intentionally...

Check your owners manual and passenger side fuse box to see if you should have an R201 there. Mine has both.

The fuses in the kick panel were all there and good, the one under the hood was missing, I was told by a mechanic at a trailer suppy company that it should have been there, so I went to the dealer and bought the little black box looking fuse to put in there, no change at all !

Hey guys,
I just got a car hauler with electric brakes, which I am new to (always used surge). My question is about to Trailer Tow Battery relay. If I plug this in does it automatically charge the trailer battery from the 7 pin, or is there something else I need to do?

This seems like the correct thread..... I have a '98 F150, a couple of weeks ago I backed into a snow (ice) bank and broke my 7 blade rv connector leaving the connection portion dangling exposed in the wet. After replacing the connector, my stop/turn signal connections have no power! I have pulled the connector apart to make sure I didn't do sumthin' stupid, I have tested all the fuses in both the box under the hood and the one under the steering wheel. I'm stumped!

Relay numbers :

Trailer Fuse Locations :

With the factory tow package on the 2006, I only had to add in Relay #05, this is the full ISO relay. The other relays and fuses were installed at the factory ( different then my '01 ).
Gallery has some additional diagrams, including the 7 pin schematic and the pinouts for the 4 & 7 pin connectors, and the brake controller. Also I scanned them into a PDF if anyone wants them ( 2006 only, trying to find a '00 to 03 one to scan ).
i just got a box traile and the running lights arent working? on my 06 it is missing the main center relay ? would they take it out if they installed trailer brakes for my other trailer? the box triailer only the turn and brake were working

my fuse box doesnt have 42 either?

Autozone TT relay price and part # for 2004 and newer

Here is the Autozone part number/price for the trailer tow charge relay(Relay#05 in kickpanel) of the 2004+ F150. Its a lot cheaper than dealer price, if you can llive with a China made part instead of the Canada made OEM. Please dont flame me because im a tight-wad.

Im going to check tomorrow if I have the relays in my 2005 FX4. What part of the engine compartment is this fuse box located in? And there are only the two relays mentioned in the begining of this thread correct? Do I have to check the box inside the cab also?
