I need lower ball joints for my 99 XLT 4X4 and the dealer and my manual says that I need to change my complete lower control arms. I checked with aftermarket as well and thier catalog only goes to 98 and lists top Ball joints for 99's but not lower. Will 98 lower ball joints fit or am I stuck buying new control arms? Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question, but wanted to reply to welcome you to f150online.com as this was your first post.

I had my ball joints replaced last year, but the dealer did it under warranty, so I am not sure if he replaced the entire arm or not.

Thanks Rebelyell I am going to get 98 Ball joints and try them as the 99 ones are removable and I have used 98 tie rods and idler arm as the 99 wasnt listed either and they fit. Also the upper control arm part #s (including ball joints) are the same for both years. I will post if they fit that way anybody with a 99 will know
