lift for 97 150

want to put a lift on my 97 F150, 4x4, extended cab, 5.4. Want to raise it 4 inches (I think). Want a reasonable ride, not bone jarring, dont want blocks if I dont have to. Also, want good quality, no problems in the future. Also looking at putting on headers and dual exhaust, but want to be able to use the spare tire area under bed if I can. Would like to put 35's on. Will the 35's rub without cutouts? Any recommendations, please.

one more thing

one more thing...how does a lift effect towing (capacity and stability, mainly)? Any lifts better than others for this?

The two most popular lifts for our trucks are the 5 inch RCD and the 6 inch Fabtech. I'd suggest one of those. Both will clear 35 easily and won't affect your towing/hauling ability.

i recomend the 6" fabtech, the lift wont effect your towing but adding larger tires will effect your overall gearing wich will effect your towing performance, it will also throw off your speedo and will cause the tranny to hunt for the right gear and cuase stress on the tranny, best way to fix this is regearing, for 35" you will need 4.56 to get close to stock, the fabtech lift comes with lift blocks for the rear i believe all the lifts come with them it might be a option to get new springs for a higher price, if not you can buy aftermarket springs for around $200, hope this helps and good luck
