I didn't mean "Curb Weight" was on a sticker... I meant "Payload" was... (where it says the "weight of occupants and cargo shall not exceed").

My intent was to show (the OP) that he could derive his truck's weight from the published G.V.W.R. and Payload numbers... because he asked (in the title of this thread) "How much does my Screw weigh?"

I'm not sure Curb Weight is entirely meaningless either. The closer your tow load's weight is to the actual weight of the tow vehicle, which is a easy to estimate if you know the Curb Weight (and you do at better job at cypherin' yer figures than me), the more likely you are to experience the trailer jacking (squirm) that the OP describes.

As for errors:

200/5978 = 3.35%

Given that a tank of gas and my lunch box combined weigh nearly as much (and I'm obviously crap at math to begin with), I guess I'm ok with that...

but... maybe somebody could check that percentage for me
