Will be changing the hood this month to either the Reflexxion cowl hood (steel) or one of the two Cervinis (fiberglass). Ram air or cowl.

Wanted to know about the fit from everyone that has installed them before I purchase one.

I have the 3" Cowl from Cervinis, they shipped out here to Denver direct to my auto body shop and advised that if it was damamged just refuse delivery and they would send a new one, were really friendly over the phone, called to make sure I liked it and it fit perfect. No mod necessary except with the windshield washer fitting that come with it. Just a good thing that the first time I used the washers at a stand still there wasn't a convert. behind me, that sucker has distance...

If I remember correctly, someone with the Reflexxion steel hood could not get his hood to stay up on the stock supports, to heavy.

 

TB I liked that hood too, but I liked the Cowl better on the White truck....

I have the Cervinis Ram Air hood on mine. A beautifully designed hood, compliments the Lightning very well. I think its modeled after the Super Stallion hood. My main complaint about the hood is the weight compared to the stock one. WAY heavier. I know the ad says 45 lbs. but I looked at the shipping invoice and it said 60 lbs. That's like 4 times the weight of the stock hood. Also the hood doesn't have screens on the intake ducts, I tried making my own but it wouldn't hold it's shape. I'd like to know if anyone has made anything for theirs.

Actually the screens not being there is a good thing....

Since I've installed the billet grills, the honeycomb inserts wouldn't have matched any longer. Now I can get creative. Love it when that happens!

The weight issue does bother me. Since I show the L pretty often, I'd hate for the hood to come crashing down on somebody. Will have to look into stronger struts before install.

I also have the Cervivis Ram Air hood and
just got done crafting my own little speed grilles for the nostrils on the hood. I think it came out nice. The hood itself is
of the HIGHEST quality fiberglass you will find but a CRAP load heavier than stock.
You will not be dissapointed Tampa Bay.

TBL, Cervini's does make the best quality product for aftermarket hoods. You won't be disappointed, had mine since November no problems

Hi All,

I thought that this Cervini hood was a ram air induction from a magazine a few months back?

I really thought that this would be direct competition to PSP, air raid, and others. What gives, did I misunderstand?

If I remember correctly they ran a stock L with the forced induction hood to 13.3 or 13.6 1/4 runs?

 

Didn't Jeff (FMOS racing) get a 13.6 out of his brand new 00, in St Louis without any mods at all? makes that Popular Mechanics picture/test seem believeable.
