The Pro-M 80mm MAF seems to be in vogue here in Houston lately. Some of this is because it comes with a low restriction filter (Sals is not avail, Downs is crap, airraid is expensive). One person reported paying $289.00 at Houston Performance and Swanson Performance sells them for $350.00. Are these the same unit or do they have different manufacturers and different programing. It appears that a 20 RWHP gain is achieved with (according to post) 10-12 RWHP coming from the filter and the balance 8-10 RWHP coming from the Pro-M. This appears to be a potential good mod for one who does not want to add a chip. I believe 1BADFRD has added one to his truck this week. Prior to this he had a chip and filter and I was able to beat him with my stock truck. It will be interesting to see if he is faster this Friday. Does anyone else have anything pertenant to add.

Pro-M(Best Product) has been around many years and produces a quality product. Yes the Pro-M will increase HP. The Mustang crowd has done a great job testing them over the years. Next time you go to the track look at some of the fast Mustangs and you will see a Pro-M.

Anytime you open up the air inlet you gain HP as I'm sure you realize. The Pro-M has no restrictions unlike the Ford 80MM MAF which has a post running down the center and of course the Pro-M has a better filter.

Don't let anybody tell you they don't make power and better throttle response.....

OK price... same Pro-M 80MM MAF at Houston Performance and Swanson Performance.

alwhite27 just did a dyno with a Downs and then a ProM, and only got 5 more HP from ProM on a bone stock truck. 336 with Downs, 341 with ProM while at Houston Performance and on their dyno all in the same day, back to back. Did all the pcm drain stuff too! Don't expect 20 HP from MAF only. But do expect it to help with every inprovement you make. the ProM will alow more as the engine or pcm calls for it. Sorry, but they failed to make a bone stock run first to see what his baseline would be Always something isn't it? SEEYA Round

 

Didn't get a chance to get on Houston Performance's Dyno - they were too busy. They told me they only got a couple RWH when testing a Downs, and on most truck see between 20-25 RWH with the Pro-M.

 

I was not going to say anything,but 1badtk open this conversation up. Sorry I don't have a stock dyno run. I was told that the Prom80maf would give me 20hp. I also was told that the downs would only give me 2hp.My first dyno run was with the Downs and it show 336.3wr, 401.3 torque. The next run with the Pro80MAF showed 341.6rwhp, 406.2 toruqe. I kept the Downs air system. If I new how to post the dyno run sheet I would. My L had 1700 miles on it when I did the dyno runs. Will have chip from Houston Performance I hope in the next two week,and I will have a dyno run then.
