Some more photos of Saddam Captured, the cave, and the box of cash...

I will be a minority of one on this board, not the LS2 board but...
I assume these pics were taken by a participant, probably a lower ranking enlisted man. I am sure he was proud as all get out of what his unit accomplished. I understand that and accept that.
However, these kind of images are probably best kept in the family until many years later given the political climate we face today. Those photo images will, I would imagine, be available through the internet to a lot of people who, while they may not support or have supported Saddam do not like to see a fellow Muslim in those circumstances. Particularly they may take offence at the party atmosphere that I drew out of those pictures.
All that was required was to take the man in. No sense in making a Circus out of the event no matter how evil we may think he is or was.
And, as was posted on LS2, if I were one of the participants I would for sure not want my image posted on the Internet for all to see. Some of these folks have pretty good intelligence and a very long memory.
Sorry for the bummer, guys but I think this one was not a really bright idea to put on the net.

Bill Murray your a crack head. Why wouldn't people want to see this tyrant have pics taken of him, and he be led around all of our troops to show, if we have patience, then we'll beat all these bastards. Quick your whining, because with you logic, then the news shouldn't even show pics or videos of criminals that do hold-ups or other crimes.

Minority of two
HI BILL, I GUESS I'M A CRACK HEAD TOO!
(Better to be a crack head than an idiot)
That first pic is really bad. It's the only one I have a problem with.
It does not represent the ideals of this Country.
It is the type of picture that comes from countries we hold in disdain.
Celebrate his capture? Sure.
But it takes some thought to see that image for what it is.

I figured some people wouldn't like that picture but I am sure more people do than dont. I would set it as my background if I could find an image large enough.
The more I look at it, the more it looks like it wasn't even possed. They could have just been dragging him out and someone stepped up with a camera, cried, 'hey joe' and took the pic when he looked up (the both look a little confussed) I would be intrested to find out.

Gee, I wonder how the Iraqi women felt as they were being
raped repeatedly by Iraqi elites? I wonder how some Iraqi men
felt as they were being fed into a plastics grinder (feet first)? I
wonder how it feels to be shot in the head and buried in a mass
grave for the simple reason that you refused to vote for Saddam?
Yes, now I see the logic here! Poor Saddam, we should really
treat him better. Afterall, he's just misunderstood, right?
Pathetic! I say cut his head off and hang it on the wall as a
trophy! I realize this would be impossible in today's society, but I
wouldn't feel sorry for the bastard for one second. Those of you
who feel an ounce of sorrow for this man should truly have your
heads examined. He is reponsible for the death and torture of
hundreds of thousands of people, if not more!

Shane don't think for a minute that you have offended. If either Bill or I were alone in a room with saddam we would do more horrible things than you could even think of.
The problem I have is our professional military under the direction of our Commander-In-Chief, with the blessing of our Congress posing with the prize like it's a hunting trip.
We must conduct ourselves better than those we condemn.
I don't believe that shot was a random accident taken in the spur of the moment. The soldier does not have equipment on (helmet/kevlar) his right hand is turning the saddams' face toward the camera while his left turns and lifts the body and he is looking directly into the camera.
It is 'look at me, look what I got".
Unthinking redneck ***-kicking truck drivers think it's the best picture they've ever seen.
I see a glimpse of something ugly that unfortunately was recorded.

rape and genocide. I'm certain the similarities are hidden
somewhere, but for the life of me I simply can't see them.
Perhaps Raoul has a different computer monitor that allows him
to actually read those "1000 words" that a picture is worth?
Don't misunderstand, I see your point of view, but to compare it
with anything remotely close to what Iraq was guilty of...., well
that's extremely misinformed.
