1968 on a 1997 frame?

I have a 1968 F250 4x4 with a perfectly restored body. Interior is bare. Motor, tranny and t-case not re-installed yet. I also have a 1997 F350 4x4 7.5 auto crew cab with a new motor and tranny.
My objective is to drive the 68 with the motor, tranny, both axles from the 97.
Would you guys shorten the 97 frame and make mounts etc. etc...or is it easier to swap the motor, tranny and axles etc. from the 97 to the 68?

swap everything from the 97 to the 68 frame. You will put more work into the motor and trans mount but it will be worth not cutting up a frame. It also depends on what kind of ride your looking for.

Either swap would be time consuming and take a lot of effort. It all comes down to what YOU want to do.

If it were me I would take the motor and trans from the 97 and put it on the 68. Same for the axles. I would also probably transfer front suspension to the 68 frame if it would work. I'm not sure if it would since it been a while since i've seen a 68.
