might need a little help

I have a 94 f150 4.9 straight 6. I have a problem with the new alternator.I replace the original alternator that I've had for 20 years with this vehicleI. want to know if there is a voltage regulator in internally or externally inside the alternator. for some reason it is not charging the battery. some of my friends that I've asked around said to replace the fuse if there is one for it. I've asked my automotive tech teacher If there is one. He is not sure that it there is one for my truck. is there one for my truck?

pretty sure it has a internal reg. as for a fuse, dont know, if it did id, think it would be a pretty healthy fuse, because of the amps the alt would be putting out to charge the battery.
