Engine Identification.
I have a 1984 ford f150 that had a stock motor. It was changed out with a fuel Injected motor and converted to carb by changing manifold etc. But now I am going to buy spark plugs and a thermostate how can I Identify the exact engine year and size. I think Its a 4.9l straight six, but Is there a writing somewhere on It that I can look and see what It Is so I can tell the auto store. I know fuel Injected started In 87 I think so Its atleast a 87 motor though.

Yes, that was a 4.9L (EFI 300ci). Look at the white sticker on the front of the valve cover, just behind the upper radiator hose.
But it doesn't matter for the t'stat & plugs - all 300/4.9 plugs are interchangeable, and they all use the same 190° t'stat.
I'd be more concerned about the water pump. If it still has the EFI serpentine-belt water pump, then it's spinning backward with that V-belt on it. You need a carb/V-belt water pump.
