Dual Tank Reservoir

I have found a dual tank reservoir on LMC TRUCK.com. The dual reservoir is twice as expensive. Is it possible or wise to go to one tank? Should I seek out a way to get the old reservoir repaired- rebuilt?
Thanks for all of the help and advice that I have recieved. I am a novice at this, and am enjoying the learning curve.

My dad installed the bigger tank from LMC on his 86 and it didn't come with a sending unit to read the tank properly. We have been looking for a sending unit but to no avail.

Edit. Umm maybe I should... Um yeah..... Get a better idea of the question before I open my mouth and insert foot. I had mistaken reservoir for tank. My bad. Doh!!!
