Right turn signal blows the fuse after a while

Is there a common place for a short on the right side. I have checked the trailer harness, and followed the wires as far as I could without removing panels. I can't find a short. It is not a complete short because the turn signals work for a couple of minutes. They blink faster and faster until the fuse blows. What could be the problem.

Thanks 86 F150 302

If this is with ONLY the right turn signal, I would guess you have a bad ground more than a short issue. A short is usually immediate the moment power gets in the line. It's also possible you have a loose wire in the connecter making intermintent connection, causing a high amp draw.

try a different bulb. may or maynot solve the problem but worth a try. ihad the same problem it turned out the filament broke and was touching inside. it was working but causing the fuse to blow.

I believe it is in the switch in the column. I can replace the fuse and leave the steering wheel stationary and it will blink all day. I turn off the singals and turn the wheel lock to lock a couple of times and the fuse is blown. I have another switch. I am going to replace it and see what happens.

Also inspect the wiring under the dash, and near the rear bumper (trailer connector?).

I figured it out. If I kept the steering wheel still it would blink all day, but when I turned the wheel back and forth a couple of times it would blow. I replaced the horn/cruise, blinker switch in the steering wheel and it works fine.
