Possible Solinoid Issue?

To start my F150 I have to turn the key so the power is all on and then pop the hood, and get a wire, and connect one post of the solinoid to the other post and then it starts it ( kinda like hot-wiring). Does this mean the solinoid is bad and cant pass the current through? Or??? Thanks for your help!!

Edit* Forgot to mention that it's a manual.

Yes. Less than 10bucks will get ya fixed up.

You are talking about bridging the two larger posts right?

Oh, wow. This sure does sound familiar. I had to go through this 3 or 4 times with my '90 F-150 that I used to have. Never had the issue with my '93 Lightning, though. The repair ought to not take you 5 minutes to complete.
