hey guys i was wondering if anyone has a 4.9l with some type of performance exhaust and how it sounds..im planning on buying an 89 f150 with a 4.9 manual and i always have to have an exhaust system on everything i own lol and i was wondering how a straigt 6 would sounds with any type of exhaust system..let me know

 

Well... It's definitely not a V8 that's for sure. I mean, don't get me wrong, it doesnt sound too bad (I'm running straight piped out the side), but would most definitely sound better with headers, i found these for the I6 http://www.cliffordperformance.net/M...gory_Code=F300 They even have headers with efi smog fittings. Also if you have catalytic converters, you sould probably either replace 'em, or cut 'em off and get an o2 sensor eliminator, but if you do that make sure you have a muffler, for back pressure.
