i Have a 1997 Ford f-150 xlt. Manual..Im having problem with turning the a/c or the heater on..Everytime i turn either one on my rpms drop and then shuts down the truck. When the truck is moving and u turn on either a/c or heater the truck runs good. Once i come to a stop or slow down to a slow speed with either the a/c or heater on, My Rpms drop and the truck shuts down. Also if i just have the truck parked and i turn the a/c or heater, my rpms drop and then shuts down the truck....Anyone have any idea what it can be?..I need help..its getting cold down here in cali and i need to be using my heater.

its the ac pump trying to lock up, i had the same problem last hunting season. unplug the electrical plug from the ac pump, just to keep it from trying to engage until you can get the pump replaced. id have it replaced by a perfesional becasue of the coolant in the ac lines. jmo
