egr code errors

pulled codes off of my 93 f150 the check lights been coming off and on lately and i got these errors
327=egr valve position circuit below min voltage
332=insufficient egr flow detected
is the code 327 from the egr position sensor?
and when i took off the vacuum line to the egr vale i had no vacuum could it be the vacuum solenoid?
any help would be nice i don't wanna just start replacing parts

Your best move is to either download (I can't post the link to the free site) or buy a Ford service CD, or get a Haynes manual.

Click the image to open in full size.

They each have a step-by-step procedure for diagnosing the EGR system, the EVP sensor and its circuits, & the EVR solenoid valve. But you could start by checking the REST of the vacuum system for leaks. A leak anywhere else can affect the EGR vacuum supply, which might be the cause of those codes.

BTW
The definition of 332 is very deceiving. There is no sensor on your truck that detects EGR flow. It's really just a repeat of what 327 is telling you: the EGR doesn't appear to be opening.

Sorry. It's illegal.

Edit: Sorry, wrong information.

Downloading them isn't illegal. But this BBS doesn't allow posting the URL of the free site.

I don't know if I can say this.

But you need Daemon Tools to mount the disc image. That will include directions for what you need to mount cd images that you download, which is totally legitimate.

That would be no different from the free one, which you can't get to work. Some of the vendors that advertise here sell copies, or read this post.

Haynes explains how the whole EGR system works, but the vacuum system is very specific to each vehicle. That's why Ford put a vacuum map under the hood of every vehicle since the mid-70s. Use yours - not one from a similar truck.

The reason it won't work is because you have to name the disk (volume label) something specific. The program running on the disk uses the volume label as a check to make sure its running from the cd.

or you can just get a teenager to do it for you
