A Good Deal, Or Not....
I just bought a '95 F150 XLT reg cab, short bed 2wd, with 221,000 miles on it. I am the second owner - it was part of our company's fleet, and was regularly maintained. It has a 302 I guess with 3:08 gears. It has had no major repairs, like engine or transmission replacement. Though it needs some elbow grease, it has no rust on it. It's also set up for towing. I have driven it, and it runs great. I have looked at all the maintenance records. It has recently had the transmission PM service, a serpentine belt replaced, and the rotors/calipers/master cylinder replaced. I paid $500 for it. Is this a good deal, or not?
Looks like the most expensive item to replace will be the passenger seat beat which is torn almost through - Almost $250. from FoMoCo. Any other ideas where to get aftermarket seat belts for less?
Thanks for the input!

It's definently a used truck... but for $500, I'd say it's a very good deal. Especcially being a '95. Fleet maintained vehicles are usually pretty reliable, depending on the company I guess, but most are. And it's probably mostly Highway miles anyway. Yeah, if it runs and drives you down the road without you second guessing the trip, then I'd say it was a very good deal.
I paid $500 for a 91 Dakota 4x4 a while back, it ran, but the transmission was shot.
I paid $600 for a 1986 Bronco fullsize that I have now, It runs and drives strong, but is really rusty.
I paid $1,200 for a 94 F-150 4x4 With 160,000 miles, but the motor is blown. It has a 302, like the one you bought. So take that as an example, the only thing mine has that yours does'nt is 4 wheel drive... but you are a year up on me, and yours runs!
I'd say you got a good deal.
