Works in 4x4 Low -- but not 4H or 2H
I have a 2014 4x4. I only have 20k miles on it. I had never used 4Low in this particular truck, but got a chance to use it today. Got stuck in foot deep snow in the driveway of my mountain cabin.
No big deal. Dug the wheels out with a snow shovel, put the truck in 4Low and backed right out.
However, when I got to the top of the drive, I switched the truck back into neutral and then into 4 High. Nothing. No forward, no reverse just free revs -- and when I tried to put it back in park, got a strange noise. Wouldn't go into park. Put it back in N, then 4Low and it moves just fine. Repeated this exercise several times and every time, no go except in 4Low.
Tried it one more time and miraculously, it went into 4high and will now move in that position. Switched to 2 High -- works fine. Noticed that dash said "AdvanceTrac On" this time as I went from Low range to high. Don't recall that happening before.
It's as if the transfer case would only talk to the transmission in low range.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
