IWE Vacuum Lines Severed

I just got done changong the front brakes on my 2005 F-150. I noticed the vacuum lines tor the IWE were severed on the passenger side. What should I be concerned with? Is the vacuum line special or can I just replace it with regular vacuum line? Any help would be appreciated.

Well if the line is severed, and you are not getting any noise from the IWE when driving, then the IWE is probably shot. It's default position is locked when no vacuum.

I have no noise. Is it possible that the IWE is not shot and it is just engaged and would unlock once vacuum is present?

Is the IWE a tough repair?

Repair of the IWE is replacement. As far as no noise from an IWE when it is locked, but vehicle in 2wd, highly unlikely. Just do a search in the 04 up section for noise from front. Just about all are IWEs that are in the locked position when in 2wd. Noise goes away in 4wd.
