Normal to hum with Ford Racing gears?

well, I had the mechanic swap my ford Racing 4.10 gears for another brand, which apparently made as much, or more noise then the Ford Racing. The Ford gears hummed from about 45mph and up..sounded like mudder tires.
He claims it is normal.

Anyone have any gears that don't make all that noise?

F&^%@)g sucks don't it, I had my diff opened up by someone else and consensus is that they are in fact intsalled correctly, I am hoping the noise is coming from somewhere else but I doubt it I had no noise before the gear install and I'll be damned if I am going to pay to have another ring and pinion and a days labor

If the gears are really installed correctly, they shouldn't hum. Hell, I installed mine incorrectly (Ford MS 4.10s also) and they still don't whine. Something else is afoot.
