Unhappy Digits on Stereo Fading

The last digit on my stereo is fading. It is more prevelant during the day when it's dimmed. At that time I can hardly read the last number on the clock especially if I have my sunglasses on. Does anyone else have this problem? Could this be related to the internals getting hot. It also causes my CDs to become unbearably HOT. I'm still under warranty for another 3k miles and am debating whether or not I should have it replaced. Other than that it works great. Any inputs?

Had the exact same problem in my 99...then the display eventually burnt out and then it just quit playing CDs. Take it in before warranty and have them put in the new radio which has the fan on the back so it doesn't get so hot.
