Question Needing a cd changer

My truck did not come with the Indash CD changer. What does it consist of if I get one? My old Ford Ranger came with the cd changer in the back and was operational from the front. Do we have to get a complete pckg....am fm stereo w/cd and changer? Where are the changers mounted in the new trucks that have them now? Just wondering what my options are?? I saw some at Walmart but had that mickey mouse clicker..I don't think so...I know it's all dependent on what we like or want but I can't spend a lot of bookoo bucks on this. What can be a few good set-ups or brand models. Thanks.

adding aftermarket changer

I have a Sony cd changer that plugs directly into sony car stereo. Is it possible to make up a pigtail so that changer could be installed to work with stock Ford am/fm/cd player? This Sony unit is not the rf type.
