Start no start

Fellas here the problem.
First a veh tech friend and I went through it. But we are stumped .

1. Truck starts then not start only click ( New starter. only click even crossing relay, three weeks old)
2. Got in truck today, moved shifter for the hell of it to N then back started.

Im trying to think either starter switch under dash, neutral start switch or NSS relay.

I dont want to pay for a part not needed. If it was on the old trucks they only had one. His 40K computer does not sense anyone bad?

Any thoughts?

It would help a heck of a lot if you actually told us specifically what you're working on...

Do you have any clue as to how many variations there are in the electrical circuits of F150s over the years???

Check the shift lever first for excessive play or slop.
