Online Window Sticker Is No More
Ford has decided to charge for their once free online window sticker viewer. I used this tool for the last five Fords I have purchased. I used most of the online car search tools to find the specific vehicle I was interested in. Most sellers post a VIN and I would look up the window sticker to get complete info about how the vehicle was equipped. It was a very useful tool.
There is still one way you can view the window sticker and that is the dealership that has the vehicle on its lot. Most dealers have a link to view the sticker within the body of that listing. Most listings do not give completely accurate descriptions of options and other important info like axle ratio's.
The F150 I recently purchased was found at a Chevy dealership. I was able to view the sticker through Fords free service and found that it was equipped the way I wanted. The truck was 90 miles away. Having that sticker info before I called the dealer was invaluable as I now knew more information than than the salesman I spoke with, and wouldn't waste a trip to find a truck I wasn't interested in.
Now you must get your checkbook out to the tune of $25 to obtain one Ford window sticker.
I lodged a complaint with Ford customer service. If enough people lodge complaints , maybe this service can be restored to the consumer.
