Thanks, wish I had known that before! At least I'll know when I'm replacing the others when they go out!!! haha

Hey guys,

My left rear window regulator just broke today. I looked at rockauto.com and Advanced auto parts, but could only find regulator for front windows, not rear. Any idea where to find a rear regulator? Ford wants $158.00, and it's definitely a different part than what's in the front.

Any help?

Try this link. Hopefully that gets you what you want at a reasonable price.

All the posters seem to have 04-05 trucks. I wonder if they upgraded this part for 06 and up? Any 06 and up users experience this issue?

Thanks DW,

It's not a heritage. I went to tascaparts, put in my VIN and found what I need. Much better price than the dealer!!

Thanks for the help!

I got the regulator today from Tasca parts (thanks again for the link!), and with an hour break in the rain, got things working again.

I thought at first the cable broke at the ferrel nut, because it looked like the picture you posted, but looking closer, it looks like on mine the ferrel nut fits in a socket on the guide that connects to the glass, and the plastic on the glide broke, letting the nut slip out. How many places can these cheap pieces of junk break?

I wish I could have tried the dorman parts, but there was no part to match the back door in the crew cab.

Thanks again for all the help guys!

If anyone has any pictures of the fix for the Dorman's window regulator where the power is backwards (push down and the window goes up instead of down) can you please post? I have the same issue but I couldnt figure out how to reverse the connectors. I was afraid I was going to snap the part off trying to reverse the cables.

In case anyone was wondering about part numbers. I have a 2004 F-150 Lariat Supercrew where the front drivers side window regulator broke. I ordered Dorman 741-428 and that worked. I ordered it from Autozone, $133.00, I could have gotten it cheaper on-line but I wanted to deal with the store in-case I got the wrong part. Thanks for all the posts, they made me confident I could fix this myself and save some cash!!

There's a little "keeper" tab inside the connector one each copper blade. Use a small flat screwdriver, sort of like for glasses, and depredd that tab while pulling the blade out the back. Just push them back in the opposite holes til they stop.

My driver's side regulator went out today when I got home and tried to roll the window up. I did some reading and ended up ordering a new assembly from ebay. It's $71 shipped for the doorman replacement. I had to pay tax because the seller is in FL, but I guess that means I'll get it quicker too then.

I had to sign up just to say thanks for saving me a lot of cash by posting these pictures. It really was a lot easier than one might think.
