7000 Off Sticker - Good Deal?
7000 Off Sticker - Good Deal?
A local dealer just called me and informed me that I could get 7000 off sticker on any of his 2002 or 2003 F series. He would keep the rebate.
This deal was good on any F series in stock: that includes the Heritage Editions, King Ranch, and the left over 2002 Harley Edition.
I was thinking about a purchase on the X plan; but this looks like it might be a better deal...as long as he pays off my trade, that is.
Any thoughts?

they're giving up to....
4000 in rebates...ssssooooo..that means your actually getting 3000 off....go to edmunds.com and look at the msrp verses the dealer invoice on the truck you want(and there's a bunch on there) and then stay away from the 2002's yeah great deal full warrenty but as soon as you hit the street it's a year old and thats a big chunk at resale...they'll be giving the 2002 away at the end of the year(inventory tax) they'd rather cut the price to a loss than pay the tax and then sell the truck at a loss...if you do go for a 2002 use the words "carry over vehicle" when going for the jugler on the price..because thats exactly what they are
I can get the X-plan through work. Its ok, but you can definately beat it by a long shot.
I got $10,500 off MSRP on my truck, but I had to take what they gave me since it was a "one at this price" weekend special. I dont like red, I dont like stepside and its both, but for the price, I love it like a red vette.... or rather mustang here

My XL was a "weekend special" as well. MSRP was $18,455 while the net selling price was $11,888. So the discount was $6,567. But I had to take the truck as is, with its 132 miles on the odo, and the blemishes from being a dealer demo.
Here's what I paid for mine and now see in Houston, TX
I bought a basic '03 SCrew XLT with a bed extender in mid-November 2002 for $21.5K+TTL. At that time and until mid-December, it was the best price. In the last 2 weeks of December, the price dropped even more. It was pretty easy to find a comparable one for $20.8K. I even saw one going for $19K, yes $19K. I had to reread the ad several times to make sure I read it correctly.
Well, that's the lastest selling price in Houston, TX.

You can apply those rebates to the X plan also. The X plan is a price you and the dealer settle on rather than a negotiaton process. It is a very good price indeed. The best part is that you save time at the dealer because you already have the price settled and can move on to other business.
In December you could subtract up to $5000 from the X plan on an 02. Went something like this
$2500 Rebate
$1000 Holiday cash
$1500 Lease loyality
This month I have not seen the Holiday cash. The rebate on an 03 is at $2000.

X-plan Vs. Conventional Pricing
We got a better deal with conventional pricing vs. the x-plan, but it was on a 2003 Expedition XLT with 169 miles on the odometer. I didn't mind that so much for the price. We got it for $6500 below sticker including the rebate. With either plan, all I could get was wholesale for my trade at any dealer I went to. (99 VW Passat)
