I need to rebuild the transmission in my 99 Lightning and would like suggestions/opinions on what parts to use. What clutch kit, should I get the factory tech valve body or some other, should the intermediate sprag be upgraded? What torque converter would work best. Target for the L is 500 HP, 13 psi boost with 50 shot of nitrous. Street/strip driving. Would like to stay under $2500.00 for the rebuild. Does anyone know of a vendor that offers a core swap for a complete performance transmission? Any help is apprecitated

 

I'm not sure how thorough you are on a rebuild but I believe your target price will be a good trick should you be able to pull it off.

 

You might search over at www.ford-diesel.com for Brians Truck Shop or Suncoast. They both build HD trannys for the PSD fellas. I'm sure they could do one for your Lightning.

 

$2500.00 is more than enough to rebuild. Greg Evans who builds the Factory Tech valve body for The PSP lightning vedor made me a price that is much, much less even with two way freight.
