Truck has been at the dealer all week

I did relocate, so this dealer was new to me. Very great service dept. It's Mike Davidson Ford in Jacksonville, FL

Anyway, so far they have removed the engine hoist brackets as it was causing a rattling noise.

Put in a new a/c assembly (even though it was replaced 2 months ago) because it was making an annoying screeching sound. Since I live in FL now, it's a little more important my a/c works properly.

Completely replaced the cloth and foam on the drivers seat. Just had a tiny pinhole, but they said it qualified under warranty... Cool with me!

They also noticed a tick at idle on cold starts. They said they found the issue and were fixing it. Not sure what it was.

Anyway, I'll be glad to have my truck back. Hopefully it'll be problem free for a bit.

Other good news, Truxedo sent me a brand new Lo Pro tonneau for free since my old on had a couple ripples in it.

I'm at just over 18k right now. The last 2k-ish are new as I drove from VT to FL. Towed a COMPLETELY FULL 5x8 Uhaul and a COMPLETELY FULL bed. Truck ran awesome! Uhaul on the other hand sucks. Had a hole in the roof and all of our stuff got soaked for 3 weeks. Filed a claim but Uhaul will not accept responsibility. The damage had nothing at all to do with me. Maybe I would have seen it had I climbed onto the roof of the tailer haha.

Anyway, yeah, I had the same exact stuff replaced at my home dealer in VT. The screeching went away for about a week after that. The last couple weeks it's been intermittent. Seems as though since I've been using the a/c regularly it doesn't screech as bad. Ha, in VT I'd only need a/c about 2 days a year. This dealer said they did find the issue and have fixed it. I'll hope for the best.

Thanks, same to you. Definitely love the xl look.

P.s. The a/c issue is nothing. When I had a faulty throttle body and Ford ran out of parts for a couple months due to suppliers going out of business... That was another story.

Man.. they didn't build those 4.2's like they used to...

My '99 was as solid as a rock. My '07 has given me problems here and there... I have no clue why it would either... now more people?

Yikes...

I've got a '02 2500 ram diesel I recently made a stupid move on purchasing... it needs a new automatic tranny. I've been trying to sell it and buy an older f150 with the 4.2l v6, automatic, 4x4, and throw a plow on it for this winter.

My buddy has one, and its got like 150k+ on it and he's been plowing with it since he bought it in '01... we swear it will never ever die.

I'd love to know what they found/fixed. I sometimes get that with mine on cold winter starts.

Sucks about Uhaul, pretty sure somewhere in the fine print they have to supply you with a safe/secure trailer to keep your possessions from harm. If they still say know tell them you are a musician and you're going to make a song about Uhaul has holey trailers and post it on Youtube, just like that guy who posted that vid about United Breaks Guitars.

Uhaul is responsible for inspecting their equipment before you leave the lot.

So are you, as the renter.

You are so very right!

Back a few months ago when I had my '07 at the body shop to fix a dent and my rear bumper, I rented a truck. When I did, I pointed out everything that could possibly punch me back later. I had him write down EVERYTHING before I even touched the truck. From every little nick and scratch, to the interior and everything. I also took pictures as well of most everything that could've come back saying, "You did it!"...

I'm not that stupid. Same thing with when I rent from UHAUL, even if it is just a simple trailer. I record everything just to cover my behind.

Update. They're also replacing the lifters. I guess it's about a 6 hour job. Had something to do with the ticking.

Seeing as I didn't know SEL stands for service engine soon, I definitely do not know what lifters are. ha
