Yeah, we knew, but the 'others' may not have.

BTW I have relatives (Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins) in Canada. (History lesson) When my Grandparents, Dad, Aunt and Uncle immigrated from Germany as a family in 1950 they settled in Guelph, Ontario. My Grandparents and my Dad made it down here to the States and eventually settled near my Grandmother's Sisters and my Great Grandmother in Virginia.

Guelph, ON, is part of where my family history in Canada starts, too.

Yeah, my Opa used to work at a hockey rink sharpening skates way back then, and my dad told stories of playing hockey on frozen ponds and rivers. They were so poor he made shin-pads out of newspaper. I couldn't imagine. Beautiful country up there though.

My Grandparents and my Dad moved down to the States when my Dad was a young teenager. My Aunt and Uncle were grown and married by that time so they stayed in Canada.

We still play hockey on ponds and rivers. Growing up tons of families would build rinks in their back yards for their kids.

It froze down here one winter back in the '80's when I was a kid, I believe 23 days in a row below freezing at one point. The pond behind the school froze a foot thick. We played hockey on the frozen pond in here in Texas. Not many people can say they've done that.

haha that is wicked.

Here is a photo of a couple guys from Edmonton who made this rink in 2004 I believe for their kids. How much you wanna bet the dads sat around, drank beer, and put a bunch of pucks into the neighbours houses.

Man that's cool!!! I remember when I was a little kid in Virginia my dad would make us igloos with the winter snow. I suppose he had plenty of practice at that, honing his skills in Guelph.

I have kin in Nova Scotia.
While US & Canadian taxes may be pretty equal and the salaries in Canada sound pretty good, the big difference is the cost of goods up there.
I know it is somewhat related to the value of currency but, it's always gives me paws.

Why don't you tell these boys what a new F-150 is going for up there so they can have an idea what I'm talking about.

your right on that one, we get raked over the coals for most ****. Gas right now is $0.949 a liter and my truck new (lariat screw fully loaded) was $58,000.

F350 HD's go for 81,000
