Dual Magnaflow 2.5 in/out and low end
Dual Magnaflow 2.5 in/out and low end
Hi,
I was able to score 2 2.5" in/out Magnaflow mufflers for free. I had planned on buying the 2.25" versions so to keep the needed back pressure. My question is if I delete the 2 rear cats, and then run 2.25" through an Xpipe to these mufflers (flange to 2.5), then 2.5" pipe all the way back from the mufflers to the tips, am I in danger of losing some low end?
Thanks.

i wouldnt do that. your having the exhaust flow through a 2.5" pipe in through the cats, then changing the pipe size to 2.25" through an X pipe, then going back up to 2.5". that much change in pipe size isnt needed, nor smart. just run 2.5" all the way through from the cats to the muffler to the tips. Your gonna lose a little low end TQ by running that size pipe, so no need to go from 2.5 to 2.25 back to 2.5. just keep the exhaust flow constant. Also, consider removing the pre cats as well as the rears, and put 2 high flow cats in replace of the 4 OEM ones. if you really want to gain some TQ back out of ur truck after putting on the exhaust, consider putting on 4.10 gears. youll gain that loss of low end back, and add in some extra more.
