1/4 at idle, 1/3 under acceleration. Why downgrade to Flowmaster? SLPs too loud?

Dude, if you prefer the Flows get them. From my experience flows sound like a dump truck. I'm just not a fan anymore.

Really? LMII's aren't THAT loud... I figure they're about the same (never heard a 44 in person --- Original 40 I have, LMII I have).

If you swap them out it'll be about the same, IMO. If you love the Flowmaster sound, go for it.

That was just my estimation. I've heard both, but not on the same vehicles. SLPs being straight through will be louder under acceleration because there isn't stupid baffle plates guiding sound all around, it comes straight through and you can hear the heart of the engine. The baffle plates in the Flowmasters make a cool idle though, but they would equal out to near the same, just a much different tone.

Flows it is!? I would go original 40 not 44's, but that is my opinion. I don't think the 44's sound as good.

Original 40. ( all part #s begin with 4 )

Super 44. ( all part #s begin with 9 )

Both are 4.75x9x13 case bodies. In 2005 the Original 40 was discontinued from Flowmaster, in 2006 they designed the Super 44 and in March 2007 They released it based on the Original 40, just improved more. After complains for a year Late 2008 they re-introduced the Original 40 and it is called the 'Standard 40'. Its the same Original 40 with Standard replacing Original.
